Day 5 in Mexico City
–We heard Sunday Mass at Catedral Metropolitana, the largest and oldest cathedral in Latin America. It was built on top of an aztec temple.
-Walked around Zócalo, the Centro Histórico de la Cdad. de México, the central Plaza in Mexico city, which used to be the site of rituals, ceremonies and parades, and now ringed by significant buildings such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Palacio Nacional and many Federal District buildings.
-Shopping and lunch at the Mercado de Merced (para siyang Divisoria! Only hindi mainit and I felt safer). We bought Mexican souvenirs!
-One of the best Mexican food I tasted: Mole De Olle, para syang bulalo na may spicy Mexican kick. We saw what the locals were eating, braved and sat down on the eatery, tried to explain trying hard in my Spanish in the end it was a treat and I loved it!
-Visited the Chapultepec Castle, once a private vacation house, then became the Presidential house, then to a military base and now a museum of history
Full packed day as we watched Lucha Libre in the evening but it will be on the next post as it deserves a highlight!
